On April 1st, Eline Hoeken joined the LeidenGlobal team as Project Assistant. Project Assistants play a vital role in helping us organise and coordinate a wide range of initiatives, from the Leiden City World Walks and graduate courses to the Current Affairs Lectures.
Hi all! I am Eline Hoeken, the new LeidenGlobal project assistant.
I am excited to work at LeidenGlobal, as I have always been fascinated by understanding different cultures and societies. This interest has only grown through my student board year at the Netherlands-Asia Honours Summer School, my exchange semesters at UC Berkeley and Peking University, my interdisciplinary bachelor's at University College Utrecht, and my current Research Master's in Asian Studies at Leiden University.
For over a year, I have been living in Leiden, where I enjoy exploring cozy cafes with a good book, strolling along the canals, and visiting the city’s many museums. As a project assistant, I am eager to contribute to highlighting the wealth of academic and cultural expertise that Leiden has to offer while also helping to bridge the gap between academic research and society at large.
I look forward to supporting LeidenGlobal’s mission and making meaningful connections between societies and cultures worldwide!
