Since April 1st Annemay Slijkoord joined the LeidenGlobal team as Project Assistant. The project assistants are indispensable for LeidenGlobal, with their help to projects such as the graduate courses, the Leiden City Worldwalks, the exhibitions and many more activities. Annemay introduces herself.
Hello everyone! I'm Annemay Slijkoord, and I joined LeidenGlobal as a project assistant in April 2024.
Currently, I am completing my bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology at Leiden University. Within my bachelor's degree, I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Kelowna, Canada for 5 months. In September, I willl begin my master’s degree in Culture, Organisation, and Management at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I moved to Leiden last year and decided to stay for my master’s degree because I fell in love with the city. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, reading, dancing, and spending time with friends.
Working with LeidenGlobal allows me to explore my passion for diverse cultures and contribute to making academic knowledge more accessible to the public. By doing this, I hope to help people appreciate and understand the many different cultures out there, making the world feel more connected.
